Getting Rid of Dreaded Tanning Results

It’s common for people to mess up their first tanning experience especially if it wasn’t done professionally. Trying to get the skin tone of your dreams isn’t very easy to get so having a bad tan is more often common than not. When they do turn out bad it’s always the problem with streaks, blotches and too much orange instead of bronze or brown. These types of tans will last approximately a week and most people can’t wait that long for it to wear out. Your skin is dyed so you will need to learn a few tricks to remove it. To get your skin back to its natural state you can use oils, salt, citric juices, and perhaps a couple other topical solutions.

Mineral oil or baby oil will do wonders when it comes to fading your fake tan. These oils will soften your skin and loosen the dye. Breaking down the dye with either of these oils will work if you massage it in circular motions and leave on for a few hours before washing. Be extremely cautious when handling thick grease like mineral oil because you can accidentally slip and fall.

Make a salt bath and soak in it for 15 minutes. Salt water is known to be a natural exfoliant and this will help your tanned skin shed off quicker.

Wish you can simply bleach a bad tan right off? Well you can somewhat, with a natural bleaching agent, lemon juice. Cut a lemon in half and rub the darker streaks off. People use this technique to remove any flaws after a tan. It’s normally done on one or two problem areas. To remove an entire tan you can make a sugar body scrub solution with freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar.

Other solutions people use are nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. Many simply use either of these immediately after a tanning session and they work to remove excess dye from the hands and feet.

To save yourself a troublesome tanning experience you have to follow pre and post tanning procedures. There are no shortcuts and no easy ways. None of the above will completely remove a tan but they should work to fade the tan off much quicker. Next time take precautions, educate yourself, ask questions, be aware, and finally, be prepared before any kind of tanning method.
